The Importance of Sleep for Adults

by Royal Egyptian Bedding on Mar 19 2021
Have you ever had a few too many late nights and seen the consequences in the mirror? Everyone knows that a full night’s sleep helps us look and feel our best — but many don’t fully realize the importance of sleep for adults. We break down why developing healthy sleep habits for adults is one of the best things to improve your life, both awake and at rest. Your Cells Work the Night Shift The first thing to understand about the importance of sleep for adults is that your cells do their most important work overnight. When the sun goes down and your mind rests peacefully, your cells start the heavy lifting of repairing your muscles, organs, and brain cells. We often think of this when considering children’s sleep habits, as they are growing fast. But as adults, these cells are still working hard. Tiny little repair workers called microglia work hard to repair damaged cells and fight off infection. Microglia increase your brain’s “plasticity” (the process of rewiring neurons to support memory, motor function, and development), which is crucial for healthy brain function. Like tiny gardeners, they clear out debris from your cells and build new, stronger connections so that your brain and body can operate at their prime. When you don’t get enough sleep, microglia don’t get a chance to do their crucial work. The result is cell damage and inflammation which may lead to chronic disease. Weight Management If you’ve noticed extra pounds piling up and can’t figure out why; you may want to consider updating your night routine. Countless studies have found a significant link between weight gain and not practicing healthy sleep habits for adults. The reasons behind this are numerous. Starting with the most obvious, a lack of sleep leads to decreased cognitive function and poor decision-making. When you’re short on sleep, your frontal lobe (the part of your brain responsible for impulse control) can’t operate at its prime. A sleep-deprived body seeks out things that feel easy and comfortable. That means you’re more likely to skip the healthy cooking and head towards the drive-through window. Plus, being constantly exhausted means you probably won’t find the motivation to stick to your exercise routine. When lack of sleep becomes a regular habit, your entire healthy routine goes out the window. Your body’s internal processes also play a role in sleep and weight management. Cortisol, known as the stress hormone, can be a powerful enemy against weight loss. Not getting enough sleep leads your body to trigger cortisol spikes. Even when you’re doing everything else right, excessive cortisol levels can sabotage your efforts by telling your body to conserve fuel, also known as holding on to fat. Insulin is another hormone that can wreak havoc on your system. After a few days without sufficient sleep, your insulin function starts to go haywire. The body’s response to insulin can become impaired, which affects its ability to process fats from the bloodstream. Instead, they get stored as body fat. This is just one reason sleep is so important for adults. Getting enough sleep won’t necessarily help you lose weight, but it will definitely help you avoid the devastating consequences that not sleeping can have on your metabolism. Protect Your Body Against Chronic Disease As if brain function and weight loss weren’t reason enough to comprehend the importance of sleep for adults, researchers have found a major link between poor sleep quality and chronic disease. A systematic review of 15 different studies found that people who don’t get enough sleep are at far greater risk of suffering from heart disease or stroke than those who get sufficient sleep (between seven and nine hours a night). Those who get less than six hours on average a night are also at much greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The numerous processes that happen when your body is at rest are crucial to repairing damage and maintaining balance. Take those away and you’re left with a body in a constant state of dysfunction and stress. This disequilibrium plants the seed for chronic disease later down the line, making it all the more important to maintain healthy sleeping habits. How to Improve Your Sleep Hygiene Knowing the importance of sleep for adults is one thing, but actually being able to get enough sleep is another. Let’s face it, between long hours, kids, bosses, and stressful news cycles, developing healthy sleep habits for adults can feel impossible. While it’s easy to blame an overactive mind or external stressors, the truth is you may not be making enough effort to prioritize sleep. Just like any other personal care routine, you need to invest time and effort into maintaining good sleep hygiene. Here’s how to do it. Make Your Bedroom Your Sanctuary The mind is a powerful tool that forms associations and connections with every action and emotion that you experience. When you bring electronics, emails, and conflict into bed with you, your mind will begin to associate your bedroom with these stress factors, making sleep all the more difficult. Remove Technology from the Bedroom. Ideally, you should start winding down and unplugging at least 1 hour before bedtime. Leave all technology like your phone and laptop outside of the bedroom. If that’s simply not possible, at least keep it out of reach of your bed. Consider investing in a light-alert alarm clock that mimics the morning sunrise instead of using the alarm on your cell phone. Protect the energy of your bedroom. Try to think of your bedroom as a sacred space. The last thing you want is for negative and stressful feelings to become subconsciously linked with your bed. If you’re lying awake with a restless mind, go downstairs and sit on the couch instead of staying awake in bed. Return to your bed only when you feel like you’re ready to doze off. If you and your partner are having a fight, remove yourselves from the bedroom and hash it out in the living room instead. Invest In Quality Bedding If you’re still not convinced of the importance of sleep for adults, consider the average person spends 26 years of their life sleeping. Yet most of us shy away from investing money into improving our sleep. Quality bedding is one purchase worth its weight in gold. With luxurious and affordable bedding emerging on the market, investing in quality bedding is a no-brainer. A bed with soft sheets and a cloud-like comforter makes it so much easier to drift off into dreamland. Egyptian cotton bedding is known for its durability and silky comfort. Look for a mattress that suits your specific sleep preferences and positions. Firm mattresses provide better support for back sleepers while softer mattresses are easier on the joints of side sleepers. Immerse Yourself In Darkness In the olden days, humans went to sleep with the setting sun and woke up at the crack of dawn. Our bodies are still designed to respond to light to regulate our sleep cycles. Unfortunately, artificial lights and blue light technology can wreak havoc on our internal clocks. Since light exposure at night triggers your body into a waking cycle, creating the space for a dark room actually helps you get more sleep. An important healthy sleep habit for adults and kids alike is to remove or cover any artificial light in your bedroom from chargers, clocks, or phones. Invest in blackout curtains to block out any light from the street, or just find a comfortable sleep mask to immerse yourself into peaceful darkness. If you follow these steps, you’ll be surprised to find how much easier it is for your body to naturally relax and let go once you get into bed. No sheep-counting required!

What Is Sleep Debt?

by Royal Egyptian Bedding on Feb 03 2021
You may have heard in the news that Americans suffer from “sleep debt.” We are always so busy. Whether this is because of work, or family, or spending time on our phones or in front of the TV, the struggle is real: Most of us are not getting enough sleep. But what is sleep debt, exactly? Is sleep debt real? If it is real, what can we do about it? Today in the Royal Egyptian Bedding Blog, we are looking at sleep debt. What Is Sleep Debt? Sleep debt is the difference, measured in time (usually hours), between the amount of sleep that our bodies need and the amount of sleep that we actually get. For example, if you need seven hours of sleep a night, and you only get six hours, that’s a sleep debt of one hour. Sleep debt is often thought of in cumulative terms, where a person misses out on needed sleep over multiple days, or even a period of weeks or months. When this happens, fatigue can become chronic, as even a good night’s sleep won’t be enough for that person to feel truly rested. This is important because what is sleep debt if not the inability to feel rested and fully alert even after a full night’s sleep? The value of understanding sleep debt is not to measure lost sleep, but to understand its impact on our bodies. Is Sleep Debt Real? In a word, yes: Sleep debt is real. The effects of lost sleep have been scientifically documented and can include: Fatigue, sometimes intense Difficulty concentrating Memory lapses Irritability and anxiety Depression Hallucinations Suppressed immune function Cardiovascular strain What is sleep debt if not thoroughly unpleasant? The cumulative effects of sleep debt come into play in the form of reduced resiliency: Even when you do get a good night’s sleep, if you have any sleep debt, your energy will fade out sooner, and those unpleasant symptoms will creep in. How to Pay Off Your Sleep Debt Is sleep debt real? Yes, but so is the solution. If you are struggling with a sleep debt of your own, there is only one good way you can pay it off: You have to get the proper amount of sleep. The best way to do this is not to “catch up” on lost sleep by trying to sleep longer than you need, but instead to get the appropriate amount of sleep each night. If you have been short on sleep, an extra half-hour here and there will help, but much more than that is not only unhelpful it can be impractical. There are many things you can do to change your lifestyle so that you get to bed early enough to get the sleep you need. However, once you are in bed, there is one more thing you can do: You can sleep on good bedding. It is hard to underestimate the importance of clean, comfortable bedding. Our Top 3 Most Romantic Master Bedroom Colors

by Royal Egyptian Bedding on Feb 03 2021
Your bedroom should be a retreat from the outside world. A place you can express who you are and surround yourself with the things that make you happy. One of the quickest ways to transform a boring bedroom is through the creative use of color. A fresh coat of paint and a coordinating bedding set is the easiest way to make your space feel brand new. Read on for our favorite romantic master bedroom colors and learn the best ways to makeover your space with coordinating room colors. Deep Red We know, we know. It’s the obvious choice. But there’s a good reason for that. Red is an uber-romantic color that oozes passion and intensity. It can also create a surprisingly relaxed and mellow atmosphere in your bedroom. The trick is to look for deep, warm undertones for a feel that’s decidedly sultry and sophisticated (rather than angry and intense). When choosing wall paint, skip the fire-engine red and look for a deep crimson or burgundy shade instead. This helps tone down any loud energy and keeps your space feeling serene. If you’re color-shy, a red accent wall is the perfect way to add a pop of color without committing to a total transformation. We recommend choosing an all-white bedding set to coordinate with your red walls. Alternatively, you can master romantic master bedroom colors by investing in a red bedding set to match white or lighter-toned walls. Blush Pink Long dismissed as sickly sweet and overly girly, blush pink is back in a big way. We couldn’t be happier, because this classically romantic color is perfect for any bedroom. Blush pink bedding set adds just the right touch of romance without overwhelming your space. A light, neutral pink duvet set will work wonderfully with almost any wall color. Our favorite coordinating room colors include mossy and forest greens, off-whites, and blue-greys. If you’re choosing pink for your wall color, look for brown, almost muddy undertones that will cancel out any saccharine hues. This new update on pink is just so incredible as a sophisticated, grown-up romantic master bedroom color. Off-White and Cream Believe it or not, white can be one of the most romantic master bedroom colors of all. When you get it right, a white color scheme can recall Mediterranean villas, warm countrysides, and 5-star resorts. It doesn’t get more romantic than that! It’s easy to get overwhelmed when choosing a white paint color for your bedroom walls. With thousands of shades in enticing names like Cloud White and Cotton Balls you easily can get lost in a sea of swatches. Here’s the secret: any shade of white will look great in your bedroom as long as you look for warm (but not too yellow) undertones. Avoid a stark, clinical look by nixing any white that has a blue-ish tone. Instead look for neutral, light yellow, or even soft red undertones. White is wonderfully versatile and surprisingly diverse. Our favorite way to work with white is by combining pure-white bedding in natural materials with a warm white wall color. Add in woven blankets and pillows for texture and visual interest. With so many ways to work with color, you can easily change the look of your bedroom to match the changing seasons, improve your mood, or follow your favorite trends. Check out our vibrant bedding sets for a fool-proof way to mix and match your bedding with coordinating room colors.

Could You Benefit From Hypoallergenic Bedding?

by Royal Egyptian Bedding on Feb 03 2021
We can all agree that allergies are frustrating. They’re even more irritating when you can’t figure out what’s causing your itchy nose, red eyes, and irritated skin. Have you considered that your home may be the hidden culprit behind your persistent allergies? In fact, these sneaky irritants could be hiding in your own bed. Read on to find out if you could benefit from hypoallergenic bedding. What is Hypoallergenic Bedding? Put simply, it’s bedding that won’t trigger an allergic reaction. Hypoallergenic bed sheets are made from materials that resist common household allergens like dust mites, mold, and mildew. They typically use soft and organic materials and are free from chemical treatments that can irritate the skin. They’re usually constructed from breathable fabrics like organic cotton, bamboo, and linen. These fabrics allow air to run through the fibers so that irritants like mold and mites can’t spread and multiply. Pillows and comforters can also be hypoallergenic.Duck and goose down is often used as a filling for duvets and pillows. Unfortunately, these feathers are known allergens and may also trigger asthma. Luckily, there are now plenty of high-quality and cozy alternatives to down. As a bonus, they come with a lower price tag and less overnight irritation. Why Should I Buy Hypoallergenic Bedding? If you have a known allergy to down or other materials found in your bedding, the answer to this question is obvious. However, it’s usually not that simple. You may be experiencing allergic-type symptoms without ever realizing your bedding is to blame. If you wake up to red eyes, a runny nose, or itchy scalp and skin, you may want to consider switching to hypoallergenic bed sheets, duvets, and pillows. Irritation and inflammation are complicated systemic reactions. While you may not experience a full-blown allergy attack, constant mild irritation while you sleep can contribute to overall inflammation in your body. That means a mild allergy to your bedding makes you more prone to react to other irritants as your system experiences multiple inflammatory triggers. Another great reason to try hypoallergenic bedding is because of its superior quality. Hypoallergenic cotton undergoes a rigorous cleaning and sterilization process to rid the fibers of dust, debris, and harmful bacteria. This process ensures the highest-quality fabric while eliminating the potential for a negative reaction. Many down alternatives are machine washable and typically easier to care for than down, and are highly durable. They’re also much more affordable. Try It Out There was a time when hypoallergenic bed sheets and down alternatives were of disappointing quality, banished to specialty outlets and small corners of the web. Luckily, we now have countless bedding options that are both luxurious and non-irritating. Try making the switch today to experience the numerous benefits of hypoallergenic bedding.

Do You Need a Top Sheet with a Duvet Cover?

by Coalition SEO Collaborator on Jan 29 2021
At Royal Egyptian Bedding, we recommend that you protect your duvet or comforter with one of our luxurious duvet covers. These covers, available in both Egyptian cotton and bamboo cotton, feature the same elegance, rich colors, and supple textures as our resort-quality bed sheet sets. But people often wonder: Do you need a top sheet with a duvet cover? Aren’t they redundant? The answer is that it is usually a good idea to have both. Top sheets and duvet covers serve different roles: A duvet cover is for protecting the duvet itself, while the purpose of a top sheet is part of the core bedding that is intended to be in direct contact with your body. By using both, you can enjoy the freshest bedding for the least amount of work. Top Sheets Are More Hygienic Another way of thinking about the question “Do you need a top sheet with a duvet cover?” is to ask: Do you like sleeping in a clean bed? The most important purpose of a top sheet is hygiene. Beds are a breeding ground for bacteria because of the dirt on our bodies and the oils and moisture secreted by our skin. By having a fitted sheet below you and a flat sheet on top of you, these two sheets act like underclothes: They catch most of the filth from our bodies, slowing it down from reaching into other layers such as the duvet or mattress pad. Explore REB Mattress Toppers and Memory Foam Pads Top Sheets Save You Work and Money Do you need a top sheet with a duvet cover? If you like cutting down on chores, the answer is a definite yes. Without a top sheet to form a hygienic barrier, your duvet cover will get dirty instead. That means you’ll have to change your duvet cover every week or so for washing. Changing a duvet cover is a lot more work than changing a top sheet. With a top sheet, you can likely go for a month or even two months between changing your duvet cover. Explore REB Duvet Covers Top Sheets Need to Be Tucked Properly Sometimes the question “Do you need a top sheet with a duvet cover?” is really just an indirect complaint about top sheets in general. One of people’s most common problems with top sheets is that the sheets can get untucked and wad up over the course of the night. However, this usually only happens when the sheets were not tucked correctly in the first place. If you make your bed properly, the top sheet will stay firmly in place. In fact, this is actually a lesser-known purpose of a top sheet: If the top sheet holds in place, then any blankets or comforters above it will also hold in place while you sleep, instead of drifting to one edge of the bed or wadding up. Explore REB Comforters and Sets If you want your blankets to stay in place, a top sheet with a duvet cover is the answer. Another common complaint is that top sheets are too tight and take away from the softness of a fluffy duvet. However, this can be completely fixed by adding some slack to the sheet. How to Tuck a Top Sheet the Right Way Once you learn how to tuck a top sheet properly, you’ll never need to ask “Do you need a top sheet with a duvet cover?” again. When you change your sheets, lay the top sheet so that it hangs at least four to six inches below the bottom of your mattress at the foot of the bed. Tuck all of this material underneath the mattress itself (and the fitted sheet), folding the corners as you would wrap a gift box in order to achieve a neat look. The more material you tuck, the better your top sheet will hold in place all through the night. Next, give the top sheet between six to twelve inches of slack instead of pulling it tight at the head of the bed. You can leave all the slack at the foot and pleat it for a cleaner look. This slack will give your feet plenty of room, and will also prevent the top sheet from reducing the softness of the duvet. These proper folding techniques require some extra material in the sheet. That is why all of our top sheets at REB are generously cut, giving you lots of extra material to tuck below the mattress. Most of our flat sheets are between 94 and 102 inches long. Explore REB Bed Sheet Sets Find Your New Favorite Luxury Bedding Styles at REB So, do you need a top sheet with a duvet cover? While you can certainly get by without using one (or the other), the purpose of a top sheet and the purpose of a duvet cover are not the same. This means that the easier and more hygienic option is to use both together. Shop Royal Egyptian Bedding Now

What Is Thread Count And Why Does It Matter?

by Royal Egyptian Bedding on Jan 29 2021
We hear a lot about “thread count” in the advertising for bedding products. This is because consumers often use thread count as a measure of quality. However, thread count is a commonly misunderstood measurement, so today in our blog we are going to investigate the topic and answer some key questions: What is thread count? What does thread count mean? What thread count is the best? At Royal Egyptian Bedding, we make some of the very finest Egyptian cotton bedding in the world. We source the best cotton there is, and have the expertise to help you understand things like thread count better, so you can make better-informed purchasing decisions. What Is Thread Count? Thread count is the measure of how many individual threads of cotton or other material are woven into one square inch of fabric. This makes it a measure of density, so the one thing you can generally be sure of is that fabric with a higher thread count is going to be heavier. Heavier fabric typically means a warmer sleep. Looking for a night of cooler sleep, even at a higher thread count? Check out our bamboo cotton sheets. Thread count is actually a fairly limited measurement, and there is a lot that it simply does not tell you about the fabric. Some manufacturers even exploit consumer overreliance on thread count by producing lower-quality products that still have a high thread count and selling these products at luxury prices. When you research bedding, in addition to asking “What is thread count?” you have to look at other information that will tell you how to interpret the thread count. Other Key Factors To better interpret a sheet set’s thread count number, and spot products with artificially inflated thread counts, here are some other key factors to look at: Single-Ply Weave Is Best: Just like tissues, bed sheets have a “ply,” or a number of layers. Single-ply is best because a single-ply weave must use higher-quality, long staple cotton fiber thread in order to hold a high thread count. With 2-ply or higher, threads of lower quality are twisted together, doubling the thread count. 3-ply fabric triples the thread count. There is no actual increase in quality from doing this, and in fact multi-ply thread has pronounced ridges that make the fabric feel rougher. So make sure you look for single-ply fabric. At REB, we only use single-ply construction in our bedding. Finding Thread Thickness Sweet Spot: When you ask, “What is thread count?” you also have to ask, “How thick is the thread?” Manufacturers can also artificially inflate thread count by using thinner thread. This not only does not increase the comfortableness of the material, but actually reduces the quality of the final product, because the thin threads are less durable and more susceptible to pilling. A high-quality piece of fabric needs a thicker thread—not too thick, since this can make fabric rough, but thick enough to provide good durability. At REB, our thread hits that sweet spot of being just the right thickness. What Does Thread Count Mean? The other big question to ask alongside “What is thread count?” is “What does thread count mean?” When it comes to high-quality fabric that has a single-ply construction and an appropriate thread thickness, the thread count becomes more informative. A higher thread count in good fabric means that the fabric will generally be: Heavier: As mentioned already, a heavier fabric sleeps warmer, and is less breathable. Softer: A higher thread count provides more cushioning, increasing softness. Stronger: When you pull on the fabric, the strain is spread out over more threads. More Supple: A higher thread count means more weight, which improves suppleness. What Thread Count Is Best? Finally, we can tackle the question of what thread count is best. It is important to understand that a higher thread count is usually better, but not inherently so. There are times when a lower thread count is definitely the way to go. What is thread count but another one of life’s opportunities to say “It depends”? Choose a Low Thread Count For: Clean, light, crisp sheets that breathe well. Choose a Medium Thread Count For: All-year comfort, good softness. Choose a High Thread Count For: Cold rooms, maximum durability, ultimate softness. At REB, our Egyptian cotton sheets, as well as our other bedding like duvet covers and pillowcases, are available in a wide range of thread counts from 300 all the way up to 1500. Hopefully, we have answered the questions of “What is thread count?” and “Why does it matter?” to your satisfaction. Choosing the Right Pillow for Side Sleepers

by Coalition Technologies on Jan 13 2021
If you are a side sleeper, you know that finding the right pillow can be difficult. There are so many different types of pillows out there, but many side sleepers find that this is only the illusion of choice, as many pillows fall short of providing the support needed for a comfortable night of sleep on one’s side. At Royal Egyptian Bedding we know something about pillows, so today in our blog we are looking at how to choose the right pillow for side sleepers. Let’s look at the different types of pillows for side sleepers. Spinal Alignment Is The Ultimate Goal The most important role of a pillow is to provide support for our necks while we sleep. For the health of our spines, it is very important that our heads not be tilting left or right. To get this factor right, we need a pillow that has just the right height, formally known as “loft.” When thinking about how to choose the right pillow for side sleepers, the key is to understand that different types of pillows tackle loft in a three different ways: Soft Pillows Soft pillows are very fluffy—they have plenty of loft. At first glance it might seem like too much loft, but these pillows are made of a highly compressible material like goose down that squishes down to the proper height under the weight of our heads. When we “sink down” into a pillow this way, it cradles the entire side of our heads. This spreads out the load and reduces pressure, which is a good thing. However, soft pillows do have some tradeoffs: For some people they sleep too warmly, since they envelop so much of the head. They also have a relatively narrow sweet spot when it comes to the optimum amount of loft. In other words, it is easy to get a pillow with too little or too much loft. Lastly, soft pillows tend to get softer over time, which means that a highly lofty pillow might take a long time to break in, while a less lofty pillow might become too soft in the long run. Different types of pillows try to minimize this problem, but anything super fluffy will eventually wear out. Firm Pillows Firm pillows provide much less loft than soft pillows to begin with, but are made of a less compressible material such as feathers, cotton, or synthetic fibers, so it balances out and gives our spines a straight alignment. Firm pillows take up less space on the bed and are ideal for people who frequently move around during the night, finding different positions to sleep in. Firm pillows are good in virtually all sleeping positions, side or otherwise. They are also more forgiving when it comes to the classic side-sleeper problem of where to put that lower arm. The main downside is that firm pillows concentrate more pressure on a smaller area of our heads. There are many different types of pillows to choose from when it comes to the overall amount of firmness, but every firm pillow will have this basic tradeoff to some extent. Sculpted Pillows Sculpted pillows are a cross of soft and firm pillows: They have a head-cradling sculpted shape like soft pillows, but are closer in firmness to a firm pillow. By taking the best features of these different types of pillows, sculpted pillows offer an excellent sleep. However, they also have a big downside: Sculpted side sleeper pillows only work when we lie flat on our side. These pillows often do not fit properly with other sleeping positions. How To Choose The Right Pillow For Side Sleepers Now that we have looked at the different types of pillows, we are ready to answer the question of how to choose the right pillow for side sleepers. Generally speaking, we prefer firmer pillows for side sleeping. Improper spine alignment is bad in any direction, but especially to the left and right, so having a supportive pillow that does not continue to flatten out over the course of the night will often lead to a more restful sleep and a lower risk of neck pain and headaches the next day. At REB, we carry different types of pillows, available in both goose down and down alternative fill, that offer a good amount of firmness. We recommend any of these premium pillows as excellent for side sleeping: Firm Goose Down Pillow, Standard Size, 500 Thread Count Firm Goose Down Pillow, King Size, 500 Thread Count Firm Down Alternative Pillow, Standard Size Firm Down Alternative Pillow, King Size Better still, we offer a 30-day return policy. Warm Winter Bedding with a Luxury Look

by Royal Egyptian Bedding on Jan 13 2021
There is something special about warm winter bedding. After a long, cold winter’s day, there might not be any better feeling in the world than crawling into a clean bed with fresh sheets and a gorgeous goose down comforter that gets you warm and toasty as you drift off to sleep. Join us today in the REB Blog for a look at the best bedding to stay warm and toasty this winter. Warmth and Luxury Together The most important purpose of bedding—even more important than comfort—is warmth. At Royal Egyptian Bedding, we proudly craft high-quality, warm winter bedding that will keep you cozy even in a chilly, drafty room. We carry some of the warmest blanket materials and bedstuffs around, like goose down, memory foam, and high-thread count Egyptian cotton. Of course, we do not stop at warmth. Our mission is luxury. We want you to have an amazing sleep experience, like you would get at a 5-star hotel or luxury resort. All of those same materials we mentioned, particularly our famous Egyptian cotton sheets, are designed with the quality and elegance to recreate your favorite luxury sleep experience. From top to bottom, here are warm winter bedding recommendations for you this winter: The Bottom Layer: Mattress Toppers and Memory Foam Pads Did you know that, when camping outdoors, it is more important to have warm bedding beneath you than on top? This is because the ground is a better heat conductor than the air, which means that cold ground will make you cold faster than cold air will. This is true indoors as well: If your mattress sleeps cool, then it is important to have some warm winter bedding between you and the mattress in order to increase your insulation. A mattress topper or memory foam pad is perfect for creating a layer of warmths underneath you. Memory foam in particular is an excellent insulator. Once it warms up, it can keep you toasty all night long. Better yet, it adds a distinctive softness that cushions your body without undermining the support that your mattress provides. The Middle Layer: Fine Egyptian Cotton Sheets When it comes to your bedsheets, the warmest blanket material around is Egyptian cotton with a high thread count. Our Egyptian cotton, grown and sourced directly from farmers in the Nile Valley of Egypt, is famous for its long-staple fibers that allow for dense weaves with an amazing thread count. The higher the thread count, the more material there is per square inch, which means the warmer the sheets will be. Our 100% Egyptian cotton sheet sets are supple, soft, and bursting with color. This warm winter bedding comes in single-ply thread counts as high as 1,500, and is available in both solid and striped patterns. Tip: For maximum coziness, get a nice, warm goose down pillow to sleep on. The Top Layer: White Goose Down Our premium goose down comforters are the perfect way to top off your luxurious warm winter bedding ensemble—both literally and figuratively. Goose down is the warmest blanket material of all, and our spectacular comforters are filled with pure, ethically-sourced down. You can protect your luxury comforter with one of our Egyptian cotton duvet cover sets, which include decorative pillow shams to complete the look of your bed. Explore Warm Winter Bedding at REB When it comes to our bedding, we love the winter. The cold winter weather lets good sheets and blankets truly shine. Ten Tips to Improve Sleep Hygiene

by Royal Egyptian Bedding on Oct 21 2020
A common problem reported by adults is the inability to sleep well and consistently. Good sleep habits — frequently referred to as sleep hygiene — can be hard to master as your own. For whatever reason, be it stress, complicated scheduling, or health problems, sleep hygiene often seems challenging for many adults. However, sleep hygiene doesn’t have to be something that you leave behind in childhood, check out these ten great tips for good sleep hygiene. Consistency This is probably one that you’ve heard before, but it’s still one that you should take to heart. Sleep experts will always tell you that a consistent sleep schedule is one of the most crucial steps to take when inducing deep sleep. It will also have a positive effect on your metabolism. Exercise During the Day This tip to improve sleep hygiene is one that some people are not excited to hear. Similar to the benefits of exercise for easing depression and anxiety, it’s easy to blow off raising your heart rate as a trivial solution to sleep troubles. However, as many will tell you, the results speak for themselves. No Electronics Before Bed Many people like to relax right before bed with a little TV or a familiar movie, but most sleep experts consider this to be counterproductive. If you’re wondering how best to induce deep sleep, you’d be better off with a book or other light reading before you attempt to doze off. Proper Temperature Control One of the most important things in establishing good sleep hygiene would be to make sure you are comfortable in your own sleeping environment.
